Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder, is a developmental disorder. Symptoms vary among individuals and are often distinct between children and adults. Such strengths can include remarkable focus and persistence, aptitude for recognizing patterns, and attention to detail.
Treatment
Therapies are ongoing and include: cognitive behavioral therapy, which can help address anxiety and other personal challenges; social skills training classes to help with conversational skills and understanding social cues; speech therapy to help with voice control; physical and occupational therapy to improve coordination; psychoactive medicines can help manage associated anxiety, depression and attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
