Grief

Definition and Symptoms

Grief is the response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or some living thing that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Grief can manifest in a range of emotional and physical forms, and commonly does so in the form of intense sorrow, detachment, difficulty in accepting loss, and depression.

Treatment

Everyone grieves differently. If symptoms are severe and/or prolonged enough, therapy and medication may be used to ease symptoms and begin to rehabilitate.
