Definition and Symptoms

A life transition is any change or adjustment that impacts your life in a significant way. Some of the most common ones are: reaching a significant age, e.g. 30, 40, 50, 60; getting married; becoming a parent; leaving university; changing job/losing your job; becoming ill or disabled; being bereaved; and retiring.

Treatment

For life transitions that begin to have disruptive or dehabilitating effects on one’s quality of life, therapy and medication may be included in treatment.
